INSIGNIFICANT ARTEFACTS and FRAGMENTS

The pieces in these series directly reference found trash discovered in urban spaces such as container ports, bus stops and railway platforms.

For ‘Insignificant Artefacts’, each piece is a 1:1 reproduction of found trash in stainless steel. Together, these pieces become an archive of commodity consumption, asking the audience to consider the narratives of production and distribution in a global cultural economy.

The 3 pieces that make up the series ‘Fragments’ are assemblages in the form of necklaces. Each pieces brings together a range of materials that references an amalgam of trash- chips packets, barrier tape, polystyrene coffee cups. Each cord is also a found material.
